I am searching for Notre dame print fabric. I have read on the Internet that Notre dame holds there trademark tight and unlike other colleges it's nearly impossible to find, I have search all over the Internet and can find nothing. Any suggestion would be helpful.

Thanks in advance.

Contact the University bookstore. See if they have a vendor where you can get their licensed fabric.

You can get it online. Some of the sites provide amazing options for it and that too at good prices.

Try posting an ad at http://missingfabrics.com/ . I have had luck a few times when I have been looking for an older out of print fabric or just a fabric that was hard to find.

You may have to get it from the school.

or, it might be worth a quick email to this shop: http://www.bearpawquilting.com/ if they don't have it, they may be able to get it. (they have hundreds of college & pro sports team fabrics)

If you see any Ohio State U. Fabric while you are searching, same problem, licensing........I've found sheets and the like, but nothing I've wanted to use in a quilt. I finally started googling OSU quilts and have found some pretty interesting quilts. I even started a board on Pinterest just for OSU quilts..... I'm not the only quilter looking for a pattern!

I'll keep an eye out for Notre Dame fabric.

I've been looking for months and have yet to find any fabric, worth discussing (some had a few scraps like 2x2 inch squares for an astronomical price) but I have found out some interesting information. Notre dame is an independent school, thus has no league affiliation so does not offer fabric in those venues. They hold there trademark tight from what I have found so no licensed fabric. I have found a few PJ pants that I could get a bite of yardage. I also have found the St patrick's fabric out now. If nay one has different ideas...chime in please.

Yes, Ohio State is the same! Most online places only sell it in kits with small pieces at high prices! My mom found some at the JoAnn's at Polaris Parkway for $6 / yd. told her to get the entire bolt (OSU) and I would get it from her when I visit her in April. The online JoAnn's didn't carry it! Try eBay?

Other option is T-shirt quilts!

Not sure if OSU or ND is in it, but the Joanns that I go to has a special catalog in the store just for collegiate and professional team fabric.

That's a great option. Thanks! I could never make him a tee shirt quilt as he wears them thread bear and would be upset if I cut up new ones. He is a die hard fan.

This probably won't help much, but might be worth a peek.....

http://www.etsy.com/search/supplies/fabric?q=notre+dame+fabric&view_type=gallery&ship_to=US&ref=auto1

I will keep an eye out for you too

I also found the t shirts for sale on etsy. Maybe you could get maybe 4 or 6 of them & build a quilt around them. Just a thought. Looks like this ND project could get a little expensive.

You will not find any Notre Dame fabric in the USA! The do not release their logo. My son bought yards of it while in Korea. I used it to make his T-shirt quilt, hope to get more we have many ND fans in the family.

You will not find any fabric except fleece. Notre Dame very strictly controls access to fabric (and anything else) with its trademarks. They want to retain control of anything made from ND fabric. They do not allow licensing of fabric with its images. About 25 years ago I bought some at a local fabric store, and I asked if I could use it to make scrunchies to sell to students for a cancer fundraiser. They damanded to know where I got the fabric and immediately went to the store and pulled all the fabric off the shelf. They even try to control anything repurposed from existing fabrics (officially licensed shirts, jackets, pants, etc.). It retains a staff to cruise the internet searching for any unauthorized items for sale with any ND trademark ("Notre Dame", University of Notre Dame", "Fighting Irish", the leprechaun, the interlocking ND, etc.). It also has a staff of very aggressive attorneys to fiercely protect its trademark. They have even sued schools to make them change the name or mascot.

Bhaggerty-you can get the OSU fabric at Joanns in Columbus, Ohio. We just moved back home from a 2 year stay there. My poor husband still drives there every week. Polaris was very close to where I lived. There was also another Joanns on Sawmill Rd. Your Mom may want to check that one for you too. Sorry can't help with Notre Dame one.
