I'm trying to add pictures to some of my posts but when I select 'Manage Attatchments' below, nothing happens. I have cancelled all my previous albums as the pictures were too big and started again with resized, compressed ones.

I can add individual pix from Flickr by sharing the BBCode like this

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7245/7333404688_9c19812595_m.jpg (http://www.flickr.com/photos/jtct/7333404688/)
DSC03156 (http://www.flickr.com/photos/jtct/7333404688/) by Poppytree2010 (http://www.flickr.com/people/jtct/), on Flickr

but I can't paste it into the download box for my album

Sometimes when I press the 'manage attachment' square I get a clicking sound and a little yellow warning splash icon with a red exclamation mark in it.

Jane, it does seem to me that perhaps the pictures you are trying to upload may be too large and need to be resized before trying to upload them.

As far as the individual posts, at the bottom of your message box there is a button that says "Go Advanced". Click on that and scroll down to where it says Manage Attachments (sounds as if you have already done this) and follow the directions - again there is a size limitation and I strive to have my pictures and other attachments less than 100 KB (don't recall the actual recommended size right now).

Like I said above, it sounds as if you are doing everything correctly, but maybe just need a bit of tweaking here and there.

I have resized my pictures via Flickr from original 4320 x3420 to 240 x 180 - don't know what else i can do!
I deleted all the albums I had set up and started again using the smallest size

Jane...I hope this doesn't confuse you further. It sounds like you need to resize your pictures. When you have the picture on your screen right click on it and open it with Paint (click). Once you are into Paint click Resize and click on Pixels. Whichever number is larger (horizontal or vertical) change that number to 800 and the other one will change to the proper number. Then click on save As and give the photo a name. I always save mine to my desktop so I can find it easily.
