My first roses came out today, I have many ancient roses in my garden, all sourced to fit the period of the cottage which is dated 1640. The lilac, wisteria and clemitus is also out. I love my garden in early summer. Also this year I planted a small area of meadow, which is coming on. In a month or so it will be waist height. I can't wait!

Anyway, I thought you might like to see some pictures.

That is more green than I have seen in a long time. It's hard out here in New Mexico to keep anything green, with the dryness and water restrictions. My poor roses finally gave up. Your garden would be an oasis out here. Very pretty.

Lovely garden! I just got a few strawberries from our garden. But what do you do with all your roses during winter? You cover them up? I lost 5 rose plants this past winter. Some of them were old ones and it really hurt me to throw them out.
If you have any good ideas about keeping roses please share, as I already bought new ones for this year
