    Default Taco Recipes......anyone....anyone???

We love tacos but are getting tired of the same old taco seasoning mix added to gd meat routine.

Any suggestions or recipes....what do you do when you make tacos? Our tacos are getting boring.

    Thanks.

We quite often do a taco salad (I use Fritos as the base) with shredded pork, red pinto beans, greens, onion, tomato, a dab of sour cream and then we put a red sweet and sour dressing on it. When I was 'introduced' to this our hostess used French dressing but Al and I love one called "Western".

Fish or shrimp tacos are my two faves. Lots of ways to dress them up.

Definitely do a Google search. I love fish tacos, but haven't made them at home - yet. I have been finding many good "Mexican" recipes for various casseroles. I am sure there are lots of taco recipes out there as well.

We do fajita beef, chicken, or fish, with grilled bell peppers and onions. I guess they are more like fajitas since we use the soft tortillas but don't do the taco seasoning mix with ground beef anymore.

If you have a slow cooker put a couple of boneless and skinless chicken breasts in with some salsa and let it cook on low. Really flavorful and moist. Sometimes I use regular salsa sometimes the peach salsa that you can get at Costco. Depends on the mood.

Wait, I thought you were planning to try elephant tacos?

Often we have refried beans instead of the beef. But I'm with Lori -- fish is the best.
