Here's the recipe for Taco Pleasin' Pizza....my mom created this recipe years ago, and now there's a few variations of it around !!
I think what she added was the mild peppers and the black olives
Taco Pleasin' Pizza
Large Cookie Sheet
Large Frying Pan
Spatula
Crescent Rolls
1 # pound Hamburger ( Ground Chuck )
Taco Seasoning Packet ( I use Taco Bell )
Small Onion Chopped Fine
1-2 Large Tomatoes ( the amount of tomatoes is optional )
1- medium Green Pepper chopped
1- Head Lettuce ( ½ shredded fine )
I- small jar mild pepper rings
1- can sliced black olives ( I use ½ can )
1- small sour cream
2-- 8 oz pks of shredded Sharp ( or Taco ) Cheese )
Cook together : Green Pepper,& Onion till done. Set aside.....
Unroll the Crescent Rolls place on the cookie sheet....pinching the rolls all together to make a “sheet” of the rolls......Bake according to directions. Do not over bake.
Cook the ground chuck...drain well. Add the taco seasoning, cook according to directions.
Pre-Heat the Oven : 350 degrees
Add to the top of the Cresent Rolls
Evenly spread the ground chuck atop the crescent roll.....
Add the toppings, tomatoes, green peppers, onions, black olives, mild peppers, lettuce.
Add Shredded Cheese over all ingredients.
Bake for 10-15 minutes or until cheese is melted.
Serve
My Mom always served with with Jello and cookies for dessert......

I make a taco ring that is good. Still is ground beef and taco seasoning, but not in a shell. It's a great potluck meal for church meetings and parties.
I don't use hard shells much, how about trying flour tortillas? You can grill some sliced chicken or beef and add grilled onions, peppers, squash, whatever..... then cheese and salsa. We usually set up a taco buffet bar with bowls of add-ons - guacamole, broccoli, onions, cheeses, lettuce.
Down here, breakfast tacos are a big favorite - scramble some eggs and add anything - bacon, hash browns, diced potatoes, chorizo, sausage (ground or sliced).
Even simple refried beans and cheese in a flour tortilla is good. It's almost a staple here.

I cooked today. I made a quilt sandwich
I pick up the already roasted chickens at the supermarket for tacos. Pull the meat off and throw in pan with the taco seasoning pack and water, stir around for a few minutes, then serve on either hard or soft taco shells. Very fast and good. When you buy tacos at a good mexican restaurant, they never use ground beef. I used to always use ground beef, but the chicken is soo much better. I also use pork carnitas (easy in crockpot) for tacos as well. But, the chicken is definitely the easiest and tastes great. When the roasted chickens are on sale, I buy several of them. I take off the meat and freeze it for tacos (or other recipes) in the future. I also put the whole carcass in a plastic bag and freeze to make soup at a later date.

I like Tostadas... or flat tacos...
Flat hard shell, refried beans (thin enough to spread on) Taco meat, lettuce, tomato, cheese, sauce.
Love them.
When I was a kid, mom always served the flat shells with the folded shells when we had taco night. Everyone always had one of each or more.
My husband was stationed in San Diego and he loves Carne Asada now.... Thin skirt steak with Taco run, grilled with onions. Just put it in flour tortilla taco shells, and use what ever condiments you like... He uses everything, I use none. LOL
Our favorite:
-1 fresh homemade apple oat jonnycake (pancake with some cornmeal in the batter)
-a huge glob homemade apple butter
1. slather
2. fold
3. devour
If you are adventurous like me, replace apple butter with cream cheese, top with cinnamon sugar, then fold and devour.
