Libby...You're first in line if i ever want to get rid of it! Actually, when my daughter gets herself settled it will go to her since it was one of her childhood quilts. Good try, Libby!!!![]()

Quilters make great comforters.
What a beautiful quilt.
We had a Five & Dime in my home town when I was growing up. It was a great store with two floors. I was always amazed at all the things in the store.

Barb, your quilt is stunning! But everything you do is top rate quality. I'm sure your daughter will love to have the quilt as a memory of her childhood.
When life throws you scraps, make a quilt!
Such a beautiful quilt filled with such happy memories. I will attempt applique one day. Not one for tiny stitches but maybe machine applique. Barb, this is really beautiful.
And I do remember both Kressges and Woolworth's as a child. They turned into K-Mart and Woolco. They are both gone now from here in Canada. But I do remember the soda counter and the candy counter. My Gran would take me downtown on Saturday and we'd always stop for a float.....

Barb, your quilt is beautiful. I remember the dime stores here. One was owned by the Meadows family. They had a huge candy counter/cabinet just inside the door. It was the first thing you saw when you entered the store. It had a glass front and was divided into sections that were always filled with all kinds of candy. What a treat it was to go to "Andy Meadow's dime store". Great memories!

...without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers;
Barb, this is a gorgeous tribute to your commitment to perfection. I well remember all the dime stores and sure do miss them. One of my grandmother's favorite store was Grants. We would go and purchase fabric every month. And I made a lot of school clothes from their 49 cent calicos. Do you remember the measuring ticker that the fabric was slid through? I know you must! Thank you for sharing such a beauty with us.
