Basting spray

After reading everyone's praises about basting spray, I bought Dritz Spray Adhesive at Joann's w/50% coupon. It has a slight odor to it, but I used it in a well-ventilated room so it was ok. I'm pleased with the way it worked. Here's a pic of my current quilt after using NO PINS!! I think I'm going to use spray more often. I'd like to try the 505 that many are suggesting. Sorry for all the photos, didn't know how to delete them here.

Have never used 505, just started using spray baste and all they had was Sullivans, cuz that is all they had. Slight odor, and I always put news paper or something down for any over spray. I have not pin basted a single one of the baby quilts I have done for the hospital. I will never go back to pinning again.

I learned from the Craftsy classes to spray outdoors, if possible, to prevent overspray in the house. Use an old sheet on the ground or a picnic table or on a fence. Then press the quilt sandwich to help it all hold together better. Seems to really work. I have always hated the pinning because no matter how careful you are, seems like there are always puckers.
