3 Yds - 6 Cuts - 3 Quilts = 1 Happy Quilter

Thanks to a post from yesterday http://forum.missouriquiltco.com/sho...zed-Nine-Patch, I have gotten 3 quilts out of 3 yds of fabric. I am loving this forum. I have gotten so much great advice, learned so many new things, and met some great people. The instructions call for them to be sandwiched and flipped inside out, then quilted, but not sure I want to do it that way. Will go with the majority on this. They were made with 2 yd cuts, so I still have a yd of each fabric for the backs. How cool is that, and the greatest thing of all, is all 3 of them only cost about $12, that is $4 per quilt. I am adding another pic of the other quilt I got done today. Pieced it last night, quilted and bound today. Yes I am machine binding, and machine quilting. Something I had never done before joining this forum. Should be able to finish up the other 3 tomorrow, with any luck. Love all this free time. DH out of town, DD off for 2 days. I am a blessed woman for sure.

I love your color choice on your quilts. I quilted my super sized nine patch and then did a machine binding on it. Isn't this pattern so quick and easy. I love it.

Yes it is. I was so excited when I saw this. Thinking I would rather quilt and bind mine too.

What size did these end up being? Also, what type FMQ are you doing or are you going to just wing it?

What is your yardage on the fourth quilt, the window pattern? Did you use charm squares?

Haven't you been the busy one! Your quilts are very pretty!! A binding will wear better than turning the fabric...I would take the time to do traditional binding.

Love these! I printed off the pattern info yesterday and might try it out this weekend with some of my stash fabric. These make crib quilt sizes correct? It would be super easy to make it bigger by adding boarders to it using the fabric in the center. So maybe get a little extra fabric. I can not wait to try this!

That is what I was leaning towards was putting them together and binding them. Not sure how I am quilting them yet, still very new at the machine quilting thing. Finished size is approximately 35X43 (I think). The fourth quilt was made from yardage from my stash. It measures 30 x 42. I am truly having a blast making these quilts for the hospital. Not sure if I am gonna be able to stop when I reach my original goal.

they are all beautiful.....I would just straight stitch them if you are unfamaliar with fmq....use a grid pattern with the specs on the batting...I do that sometimes....it shouldn't take away from your pretty fabrics...
