Sasha I have been using the June Tailor Quick Fuse Iron on Fabric Sheets for Ink Jet Printers to make my quilt labels and so far they work fine. You have to be careful though because there are so many different types of fabric sheets and brands that it can get confusing. Joann's store carries the June Tailor sheets and Printed Treasures brand. Some are Sew In, some are Iron On, some are washable, there can be a difference in the fabric stiffness or quality.

So far I have been using my labels on quilt projects that I don't plan on washing such as wall hangings and tote bags etc., although I did make one label for a bed runner which I then laundered twice before giving it as a gift. The label held up for those washings, I just don't know how it will look after many washes. The laundering instructions at least on the June Tailor product are very specific that items should be hand washed in cold water only, and if soiled you should use just a little fabric softener, but NOT any detergent to clean the item.

The printable fabric sheets are expensive and I generally wait for a 50% off sale before I buy. Most packs only have 2-3 sheets in them although on occasion I have found the June Tailor Quick Fuse sheets in a 10 sheet pack which is a better deal when on sale.

There is a special product called Bubble Jet Set and Bubble Jet Rinse which allows you to treat fabric of your choice with a chemical solution that you can then print on the fabric and they claim it to be totally washable with no color fading. I have not tried it and it is a more time consuming process, but I have heard it has good results for making your own printable fabrics.

Here are some pics of quilt labels I have made using the June Tailor sheets. I either fuse the printed label directly to the back of my quilt (like I did with the pink bed runner and black wall hanging) or I fuse the printed label to another piece of standard fabric and then decorative stitch and applique on it before hand sewing the finished label to the quilt.
