    Default Fabric storage

One of my New Years resolution is to declutter and organize the house and what better room to start in is my sewing/craft room I did order comic book cards but how do some of you store them? What about the many kits I have right now, I use the giant zip lock bags and label each one any other ideas for the kits?

put the bags in plastic drawers...they are relatively inexpensive and there are a variety of sizes
These things, I warmly wish for you-
Someone to love, some work to do,
    A bit'o sun, a bit'o cheer.
And a guardian angel always near.

I have my fabric folded with the ruler method stacked on top of each other, but now I see the benifit of the cards so I'm going to order too. I have shelves for that. I have plastic rolling carts where the bottom three big drawers hold patterns in plastic bags. Then there are four smaller drawerson top to hold all my embroidery and serger threads. I can't keep those out because we have geckos and they poop on everything. lol I have four of these, some with craft stuff and others with sewing notions. Then I found great rectangle baskets at Michaels where I store my machine parts , hoops, sewing arms. Stuff like that. I think some of the trick to organization is to get everything off the floor and really take use of walls for shelves .Oh and a peg board, and bulliten board.

    Was that too much? lol

Hi Louise, I love trying to get organized and recently put all my fabric that had been stored in plastic containers onto the comic book boards.

I had an old dining room set so decided to use the table for my sewing table, the china cabinet and 2 side bookcases for storing my fabric. It really works great.

I like keeping my rulers, quilting templates, scissors, and gadgets on a peg board.

I use small clear plastic boxes from Walmart for storing all my sewing patterns.

Larger plastic boxes I use to keep my current projects together or to store kits and items that I want to not get separated.

I have several roller carts with shallow drawers that are perfect for storing thread spools, needles, sewing accessories, machine manuals etc.

I pretty much collect any type of basket, box or storage container and can find a use for it sooner or later! You will love the comic book boards. It makes it so much easier to see exactly what fabrics you have and match up colors and prints!

Wow Linda....your fabric is beautiful and displayed so nicely. I am also green after seeing your wonderful sewing room...good for you!!

My fabric boards are stored on a 3 shelf pine unit that I got at K-Mart. My gf put ends on it and it works nicely but its not nearly big enough. I use clear plastic storage tubs from Walmart for my fat quarters, scraps, and smaller ufos stored in ziplock bags. I need more bins as well.

2013 = God's continued grace, healthy friends and family, and many wonderful sewing projects

Well nobody else is going to give ideas to this thread. lol It did inspire me to get those cards and clean up my room though. I'm working in a loft. I do have three tables but one has three machines on it ( I have four) I could free up that table so I can butt it up to the other one when I want to quilt. Humm now i'm getting distracted fom my ufo on my design wall. lol

I was going to add that the way my fabric is folded, ruler style there is a lot of dead space that I can store my machines. Off to order cards!
