The Bug Man Cometh!
Every other month, my bug man comes to spray my house. He is an amiable guy, loves to BS, and since he goes into every space that has floor, he SEES EVERYTHING! No hiding from him, he is like my replacement mother-in-law (you know, you clean for your mother-in-law's visit like you clean for no one else, at least I did!) Well, he caught me off guard today and came when I wasn't expecting him. He went through his usual routine, spraying all the rooms, and when he came to my fabric stash closet, he did a double take! Then, he said, "The fabric store called and said they want their fabric back, because they ran out!" As he was admiring all the stacked boxes, he said, "At least it is well organized!"
That's why I love Mr. Mike Roach. the bug man (with a name like that, his life's career was sealed from the moment of birth!) He always has a humorous take on what he observes. He did a double double take on the room with the long arm in it, I had to explain what that thing did. He was impressed. He gave me his blessing on my newest acquisition, so now it is all OK!
This is to show you what a pathetic life I lead, long arm sewing machines and the bug man's visit made my day!

Re: The Bug Man Cometh!
Our bug guy visits every 3 months, does the inside and outside of our house and then proceeds to visit with my dh in our garage for a few hours. Kind of like one of the family.

If you don't know where you're going you'll probably end up somewhere else.

Your life is anything but pathetic. It is filled with love, and caring. Two attributes that not everyone has. Pretty impressive that you bug man is in awe of your stash. Your love of quilting is sew much more than I think you realize. It is a gift that you have, and you share it it with others. You are an angel, that puts others needs and wants before your own. So don't sell yourself short. You have been a Godsend to me, my DF.

Blankets wrap you in warmth, quilts wrap you in love
A quilt is something you make to keep someone you love...WARM.....
What I make with my hands, I give of my heart.

Re: The Bug Man Cometh!
We just had our guy out to get rid of carpenter ants and carpenter bees. While he was at it, he knocked down 8 nests of yellow jackets, hornets, and wasps! I love our wood decking. But so do the bugs!
As for people looking at machines and wondering what they do, I have knitting machines. People used to ask what kind of music did they play? LOL Hugs, Jan L.

Jean... it is your posts and Sandy's (ahem... someone is trying to make me look lazy, but working like a beaver sewing...instead of lurking here on the site...)... that make getting up each day a facing whatever ache and pain i have....So many of you make this forum special for me..
Giving credit to myself... knitting and crochet are my EVERYDAY hand work.. because it's at night during downtime.. and in the summer..almost daily at the pool with all my "pool buddies"... would you believe I'm the girl "whose hands never stop"... LOL.. but i love the shade and breeze and constant chatter of good friends.. mostly women.. if you think quilt groups are fun... you need to try "bobbing in the pool with a noodle".... Me,, i don't need one... my upper keeps me afloat,, and i enjoy the excercise of flapping legs and arms... like walking on water... LOL
