Actually just watched it awhile back. Could not tell you how many times I have read the book and seen the movie. A couple years ago for Christmas, Rhonda got me the HB, and and the DVD. Bout made me cry, cuz it was so thoughtful and special.

My BF loves to put out bird food and cat food. The sparrows and finches usually dump as much as they eat so the doves come around and clean up the mess. That's how a couple of doves became lunch. Kitties would sit quietly and then pounce!!! I had barn swallows in Washington state that nested above my car and would dive at me whenever I tried to get into my car. I love birds!!! When I lived in Alabama we had the best assortment of birds!! Loved them all, even the woodpecker who would peck on our aluminum siding!!

Ugh, I think I'd trade you for the mocking birds if you'd take some seagulls lol Just like on "Finding Nemo"... Rats with wings... lol At least a mocking bird is small enough for a cat to catch and keep the population under control, a seagull would carry off a cat if it thought it was fit to eat!

Ha, I call seagulls "beach pigeons." Nasty birds.
Quilters aren't greedy, they're just materialistic.

Around here no ocean so seagulls are "dump chickens". Way back in the 70's I was at a fast food restaurant and we decided to eat in the car - a convertible with the top down. Threw a couple fries to the gulls in thempty space next to us - BIG MISTAKE - we had to leave in order to finish our lunch.

Here in Louisiana we have plenty of diffrent birds. I even have your woodpecker Pam every morning I get woken up by the sucker tapping on the side of my air vents on the top of my home. We also have a mockingbird that for the last three years comes back just to look for our cat. Little Miss just pays it no mind as it dive bombs her everytime she walks out the door. We always know where she is as the bird will be just a few feet way yelling at her. About four years ago we had one pair of Swallow-tailed kites around the house this year we have about 7 pairs love sitting outside and watching them in the early morning or late evening.

This is for all you Seagul haters: My daughter actually witnessed an Eagle swoop down and snatch a Seagul right up and fly away with it in Downtown Seattle one Summer day! Quite a sight that left everyone with her in disbelief.

My FAVORITE bird in my backyard is the Hummingbirds. We have so many that come to feed my DH thinks it's an infestation!
