Red face Mickey & Minnie Cafe Curtains!

Hey everyone!! I've been a tad busy the last few weeks, but I miss you all!! Star Wars project aside, Mom's kitchen was getting redone, so of course there were a few things we needed to do. lol. I found this fantastic tutorial for cafe curtains on Fabric.com, and Mom is a huge Mickey Mouse fan, so all it took was sharing the link to the tutorial, and she was already excited that I would be making Mickey buns for her curtains, lol. Then we got a wild hair and thought it would be SO cute to do one Mickey and one Minnie...I'd link the album here but, and I mean no great offense to this website, but it always flips my pics in strange ways, so I gave up. Here is a link to my blog post. It's just my geeky ramblings...I don't sell anything...just share random stuff I made...most of it geekily based!

Hope you like the curtains!! I know Mom sure does...lol http://www.procraftstinator.com/2012...-curtains.html

Having just spent a week in Mouseville, I think these are just darling! Will the valances have ears?

How absolutely perfect - so subtle yet so 'right-on' for a Mickey lover. Adorable idea.

    The curtain are absolutely cute!

But what I find highly amusing is that someone, somewhere did a tutorial on how to sew to big yellow dots on red fabric. You should do the Minnie Tutorial, it was a lot harder.

Those are going to be darling once the valances are added. Can't wait to see them.

LOL. It was funny, when I found the tutorial, I didn't ponder it's difficulty, I just thought...OH SNAP why didn't I think of that lol. It's SO simple, but perfect. Minnie was actually pretty easy even thought ruffles were involved, lol. I'm not the best ruffler, but they turned out pretty alright, and Mom loves them, so that's all that matters. =) And the valances...we are still brainstorming. So far...the Minnie will likely be white with an appliqued Minnie Mouse bow or 2. And the Mickey will likely be the same yellow as the buttons, with a hand or 2 appliqued on that one. Not set in stone yet...Still thinking on those, lol. But I will post once they are up! <3 Thanks for all the positive comments!! I appreciate it immensely. =)

How about just black valances? It will make them look a little more matched to the non-Disney lovers, and I've seen a bunch of Disney stuff done with the pants/skirt on the bottom and black or black ears on top.

This was the best example I could find right now lol: http://www.disneystore.com/best-of-m...93803/1000248/

I think the bottoms are so unique and special on their own that a black valance would fit and let the bottoms stand out a little more Just my two cents though, the bows and hands sound cute too

LOL Those salt and pepper shakers are too cute, LOL. And actually I have thought about black for the Mickey side...but I havn't convinced Mom that it won't be too dark, lol. The whole time we've been making things for the kitchen, she's been really worried it would be too dark. I may just need to make one, goodness knows if she doesn't use it I will. I'm always redecorating something, and black works for my love of Nightmare Before Christmas, LOL. That way she can see it, and decide for realio if she thinks it's too dark or not. That was actually my personal first choice. You know it's funny, we are always our own worst critics, so of course I rarely make something that I actually think OMG cool, but I swear every time I look at those curtains, I fall in love with them all over again. lol. I shall keep you posted on valance decisions, lol! <3
