Default Latest But not the Greatest

This is my latest addition to my hospital quilts. Started out using leftover hst from sisters quilt. Got tired real fast of doing the pinwheels. Decided to build on from there. Had the wonderful moda check left from previous project, and the little dk pink squares. Just added borders,of solid white, the squares with the checked and dk pink, which I mis-measured, but refused to rip out, then finished it with another border of white and finally the check. Just sitd in part of the windmills and x's across the solid blue. Then yes, hold on to your chairs, did some FMQ in the outer boarders. Did decently, but no where near perfect. Now that this one is out of the way, and DD got rude awaking on just how much Mom can't do, thought I had mini stroke yesterday, turned out to be major lupus flare, I may get back on track. May try to get another one started tonight, debating on that, since I probably just really need to rest. Also wanted to say thank you again to all the wonderful people on here that are making quilts for me to donate to Cardinal Glennon Chidrens Hopsital. You are all AMAZING.

oh, it's adorable!!! I think you did a great job! I just signed up for, and am watching, the Craftsy class on 'beyond basic machine quilting' so i can get better at free-motion. I'm ok with meandering but i need a push to get better...and more creative...with the other stuff! There's quite a bit of instruction on various kinds of feathers. Hopefully I'll improve!

But you did a fantastic job and I love the fabrics - you have a great eye for putting them together considering they were 'scraps'!

That came out too cute. Love the colors and pinwheels. You can't get near perfect if you don't practice your FMQ and at least you're doing it - I haven't done it on an actual quilt yet so there!

A girly girl is going to love it! Regaring the Hospital quilts, I want to thank you for exposing us to Bubby's story, how you're paying it forward and we can help you with that. I can't wait to get back home to my fabric and put one together for your cause.

Now about your health! Can you please take some time and take care of yourself! Rest this evening!! Put up your feet, put on the tv or a movie and just chillax!!! Give yourself a big (((Marilyn))) from Don and I.

    Dearest sister,

You need to take care of yourself just like you tell me to do. Your quilt is fine and it will be appreciated by whomever gets the pleasure of being snuggled up in it. God put this on your heart to help out children during their darkest hours, however, He doesn't want you beating yourself down and making yourself sick in the process.

ps: they made changing fonts and colors a whole lot easier didn't they.

My dear friend--you can't do everything for everybody. You need to take care of yourself. Can your daughter find someone to care for the kids to give you a break? My daughter was relying on me for lots of help while her regular babysitter was out for surgery, then the lady decided she couldn't do it at all anymore. There were some tense days until it all got worked out. But now it is resolved and I'm not so committed. I love my grandkids, but being a full time caregiver AND working just can't be done by me. Your health is important, what if the stress really had been a stroke? Maybe it's time to have a chat with DD.

Your quilt is darling, I'd get tired of pinwheels faster than you did. Everything you make is so cute!

Normally I don't have the kids to that extreme. Problem was, LaLa was in hospital for several days and under the weather, so I had to step in and take over. Usually only have to watch them if their shifts over lap. I am pretty sure she got the message loud and clear when they thought Mom was gonna have to go to the hospital yesterday. I was just over tired, over heated and over stressed. I had spent waaayyy to much time out in the heat. In the shade but still in the heat. Can't let the kids be outside by themselves and in the pool without adult supervision. Can't get in the pool to cool off, cuz it is in the sun, and I can't be in the sun. Have taken it very easy today, and will tomorrow as well. Hoping things get back to normal this coming week.

Can I just say here how much I love pinwheels - there is a pic of a quilt on the Kansas City Star page of a 9 patch where 5 of the nine are pinwheels - I would like to do that some day. It reminds me of the homespun quilt that Cyndi is working on now - or vice versa. Any way get some rest you two!

Sorry, I just went to see if I could look up that pic and it is not there, but I did find it! If you go to Kansas City Star Quilts on Facebook and scroll down to May 15 there is a pic there of what I am talking about and maybe one of you who are a whiz on the computer can put a link here for me - maybe
    Thanks computer whiz type people!
