    Default Kyle's Quilt

Got the top finished yesterday, so today I quilted it. Thank goodness there are no quilt police here. There are so many mistakes and blunders it is unreal. So happy that this is for a 2 yrs old that is to young to judge the obvious, and not so obvious errors. To begin with I should have used navy blue thread in my bobbin, and didn't. Miscalculated the center so the quilting is off. I could go on and on. It is VERY apparent that machine quilting is new to me. But on a positive note, it is finished. I loved making this too, just knowing it is going to a special little guy, who is in such a loving home. In the wash now, with 3 color catcher sheets so hopefully none of the colors will bleed.

My post to you disappeared! This turned out so cute! I love this pattern. I'm making one for Brad the 8 year old cat lover using this pattern. I’ll post pictures tomorrow when it is quilted.

Can't wait to see it. Who are you giving the alien one to? I am just so happy to be able to make one for one of the kids.

I'm not sure which kid is the alien lover, she just begged and begged for the alien quilt. The one kid left was Brad who relates to cats better than people. That lady I met at Hancock gave me some great cat fabric, suitable for boys. It has cats in all the primary colors. I just put rows of blocks in between the cat blocks in red, blue, yellow and green. It really is bright. What size are yours ending up to be? I am using 5" blocks, and this one is 8 rows long by 7 blocks wide. It ended up 48" by 44". That should be big enough for an 8 year old from chin to toes. I only used Two borders, you used three. Do you think I should add another border to make it bigger?

Can you use polka dots on a boys quilt? Or is that too girly?
