You might want to see if you can find a pattern that calls for regular fabric on the outside, but can be lined with a soft flannel on the inside, next to the scalp, which may be very sensitive during treatment.
A pillowcase would be great, too! Or slippers - a bunch of folks here have made them. I did chemo through a very snowy winter, so I brought my slippers with me every time I had to go in for the infusion, so I could take my boots off.
