Default I've never had so much fun making a quilt

I loved every second of making this quilt. I drew up a larger, more complicated piece to make, but DH recommended I make a smaller sample first. This one is about 15" square. As I was sewing away, I kept saying to myself, "It doesn't have to be perfect - it's just a sample!" So, it is filled with mistakes but I love, love, love it. I can't wait to make another one!

I really love this. I would like to try something similar. Did you mark anything first? Did you use cotton thread or polyester? Any chance for a tutorial or you tube video?

Pretty please with sugar on it?

Buy the book, "Graffiti Quilting: A Simple Guide to Complex Designs" by Karlee Porter. That's what I did and this is what came out of it! I used plain white fabric with trilobal polyester thread. It is just FMQ. I marked some circles (using a plate and some bowls) and drew out simple lines through the center of the fabric and that's pretty much it! I just went ahead and quilted to my heart's content. I went over and over the designs three times to get them to really stand out. Honestly, I have the next one drawn out and am chomping at the bit to get started on it. Quilting this way is just fun, fun, fun!

Cyndi, that is awesome! I admire all you quilters who have the guts it takes to try something new. Someday maybe I will have the confidence to try this.

Cynd?i, that's beautiful. If that's just a sample I can't wait to see the real deal. Can you tell us more about how you did this?

Beautiful and a blast from the past since it put me in mind of my beloved Spirograph when I was a kid! I want to make one of these!!
