Liked your idea of attacking scraps. I just watched the tutorial. Is there any reason why the first white squares couldn't be sewn like the method used in Falling charms quilt ?

I don't know what you mean. Was that one strip pieced? If so, I think you wouldn't want to do that if you wanted variety. I used 40 strips for the blocks, but I had 36 or 37 different prints and only a few duplicates.
