I got the top finished and sandwiched, now the challenge is, can I get it quilted by the 23rd of July for a wedding present. Should be interesting.

Hand quilting. I don't have the patience to try and shove all that fabric through my machine. I'd end up throwing the quilt and the machine away.
The color choices were somewhat random. I ordered some Moda scrap bags. The blades of the plates are all from one bag. I'm not even sure which line it is because there were no selvages included with that batch. But it was fun getting the bags in the mail. Like a surprise, you aren't sure what you'll get.

just gorgeous!
Lovely! I like the colors you used. What a generous gift.
i've wondered about the scrap bags, if you would get enough good pieces to use in a project.
soo pretty.. one of my favorite patterns ever! love it
Your quilt excited me Karen! I got a charm pack recently and have played around with making a Dresden plate. Now I know for sure I'm gonna do one. Where did you buy your scrap bag if its OK to ask?

I was able to get 8 plates with 5 1/2 inch blades plus 4 fans with 2 1/2 inch blades for the corners out of the one scrap bag. I'd guess it is about a half of a jelly roll worth of fabric. One of the other ones I got has selvages so some of the strips aren't quite as wide as the rest. But, I managed to find them for $8.00 a bag, which I thought was a pretty good deal. I found them at Fabric Depot.
