Default My Homespun Quilt Top is Finished!

Hi everyone! I posted these pics at the end of the very, very long thread but I was afraid it might be missed and I want everyone who helped me to get to see how it changed from an ugly quilt into something much nicer. Thank you all for your help when I didn't know which direction to take and your encouragement when I felt like it was never going to come together. This is just the top so there's more work to be done. I want to tie it with buttons (thank you Jean) but I'm afraid the homespun has such a loose weave that it should be quilted for strength. Can I do both? Quilting for strength and buttons for cuteness? More decisions!

ps The doll was made by my late mother and the flowers are from my garden.

Your quilt top is lovely. Of course you can tie and quilt, I don't see any problems with that. I really like the yellow, cheddary color for your sashing and the red cornerstones. I think that's what is making it pop!

That turned out so nice! I've been wondering what colors you would use.

Cyndi, I really think it came out super cute! Love the story it tells with the doll, table and flowers.

Quilting and buttons surely will top it all off.

    Wonderful job, Ruby

Love the new and improved homespun quilt! The sashing and corner squares really make it pop. No longer boring! I think it would look fine to quilt and button your quilt. LOVE the way you displayed it for us. Super cute!

It makes me want to go "home." That place in my mind where I am always safe, there are no worries, and nothing bad can ever happen. I consider anything that evokes an emotion or "sense of being" to be a great piece of art. You have made a great piece of art, and it is yours so if you want to quilt and add buttons of course you can. You can do whatever you want to your own art.

Great job! I love how you set up the pictures.

    Enjoy your day!

Your quilt looks wonderful. I guess I didn't see it before but the after looks great. Of course you can quilt and add buttons. It is your quilt and you can do anything you want.
