Stillborn Bereavement Group Announcement
I established a group in 2013, for providing a remembrance quilt for grieving families experiencing a loss of a newborn, (or too young to be born).
Your response and generosity was overwhelming, and an emotional time for me. (I had a 'too young to be born', half way through my pregnancy, in the late 70's, when such a loss was not recognized...)
I can't BEGIN to tell you what it means to parents, to have a tangible remembrance!
And for nurses, to offer up any kind of remembrance, in the moment is PRICELESS!
(At least I can give them this beautiful hand made remembrance ...)
Since then, our hospital has grown. Another building going up, offices being shuffled around.
Somewhere along the line, my quilt cupboard was displaced, temporarily. I have PLENTY of minis, mediums, etc...
I'm REALLY low on the 32X32, (Newborn sized).
Sadly, I DO smell a rat....
And will insist on a locked cabinet.

Sue - as soon as my machine is back from the ER!!!! Gotcha covered.
Re: Stillborn Bereavement Group Announcement
Sorry to hear someone would be so insensitive to the need and not ask questions if the cabinet needed to be moved. You provide a beautiful and necessary service.
Re: Stillborn Bereavement Group Announcement
Sue - I see you gave a size. I looked for a group on the forum in hopes of some photos. Can they be just squares sewn together and quilted? I'm not really sure of a pattern for these.

Trish, it's still there. Keep scrolling. It's on the left. It can be as simple or complex as you like. Lightweight batting (flannel, perfect), tasteful fabric. Stay away from yellow, it doesn't photograph well, in these cases.
Re: Stillborn Bereavement Group Announcement
Sue,
I will send you one. Will you please PM the address to me?
Hugs,
Preeti.
Re: Stillborn Bereavement Group Announcement
I have the whole afternoon to my self, and I was thinking what to do........found your post And now I know what I am going to do!
Thanks for the heads up!
You do amzing work by giving those quilts to those in need!!
Re: Stillborn Bereavement Group Announcement
I'm glad you mentioned this, I didn't know the group existed. My dear sister had 3 "born too soon" angel babies, and I would like to make some quilts in memory of my nieces, Seraphina, Grace and Hope. I'm sure they are watching over their brothers and cousins from heaven. I'll have to find the group, and it will be some time before I can get a quilt to you, as I'm geographically limited, but there will be quilts.
rats.... one word for them.... KARMA
Re: Stillborn Bereavement Group Announcement
Jumping in here - since Lou mentioned she's geographically limited. Maybe not in Kazakhstan, but in many places around the world there are labor and delivery departments that would probably welcome your donations of bereavement quilts. Also there are many groups that specialize in making tiny gowns and buntings for those little angels who came too soon. Some quick Google searches may put you in contact with a place more local to you.
