Panel Quilt

I just took another look at that panel. It really is darling! I wouldn't put piano keys on it. It's already got a stiped border. I think I might be tempted to do a border with appliqued flowers like the flowers in the panel. I'd try to make the additional borders look like it's part of the panel and flowers could definitely help with that. It would also add interest without having to add pieced borders. I might also consider getting some of the coordinating fabric that echoes some of the colors in the panel and something that looks nice with that stripe.
