I just spent an hour yesterday with a very knowledgeable Janome dealer, I learned more in one hour than I knew in 20 years of owning Janomes. If you want to talk to him, his name is Darren Hey phone number 573-445-4906, he's located in Columbia, Mo.

Hi, I have the new 12000 machine, yes it is expensive but its a fabulous machine, lots of ordinary embroidry stitches and also embroidery in the file on the machine.

You are in the UK, speak to David Drummond 0131 539 7766, he is one of the countries top dealers and ships machine all over the world. As long as you keep the original packing and box he will collect your machine, service it and send it back to you free of charge. You have the alternative of taking to a local Janome dealer for service, if there is one within travelling distance.

I love mine, there are so many features its almost impossible to talk about them all. The biggest asset as far as I am concerned is the embroidery unit, it slides onto the back of the machine and can be left on permanantly as mine is. You do not hav to faff around sliding the embroidery unit on the machine when you want to embroider. There are a lot of videos on UTube both about the machine and also how to use it. There is also a very helpful site on Yahoo that deals with the problems people may encounter with the machine.

I did have a problem when I first got it, but it was me that was doing something wrong, not the machine.

I have a friend who is a well known quilter and embroiderer, she has a Bernina, but is in the process of selling it to but the 12000, I think thats says a lot about the machine.

If you want anymore info you can email me and I will do what I can to help you.

I recently purchased my first Janome - 3160 - LOVE it and middle of the pricing options - the auto up/down needle and the thread cutting option are my favs! Great purchase with my tax refund! My Janome came with two free classes to learn about all the options the machine offers! We are also allowed to repeat if needed in the future! Good luck with your purchase and CONGRATS!

Are the Janome 11000 and 12000 (not sure how many zeroes, LOL) around the same price as the high end Berninas?
    Don't know pricing of Janomes.

I just took a look at this and all I can say is WOW! You are one lucky lady. I just have a very cheap Brother that does wonderful straight stiching (now that I know how to load the bobbin) for my patchwork. Happy anniversary, and have a great time with the new machine!

Anybody know about what they're charging for the 12000. Just curious!

My local dealer said about $10 grand. Bernina's big embroidery/quilting machine is more. I was quoted $10,500 for a demo machine at a store closing for the Bernina. I think I'd rather have a Janome. After seeing what that dealer in Columbia, Mo. Did with his, I am interested in it myself, and I said I'd never buy another embroidery machine. It does great quilt patterns.

    Hi Jean Sewing Machine
Over here I have been offered a deal at £3000 GBP with part exchange on my old machine and included £800 GBP worth of software free. So that sounds a good deal to me.

Not exactly sure of the exchange rate, but that sounds good to me! What are you trading in? A used car?
