The voices in my head....
Is it just me, or does anyone else hear Jenny's voice in your head when you're working on one of the quilts you learned from her tuts? I am making the X's and O's quilt and for two days now she's been saying "solid to solid, color to color" in my head....over and over and over and over.....ARRRRRRRRRRGHHHHH! Say it isn't just me....please?

Re: The voices in my head....
that's what so special about her.... you never feel like your sewing alone!!!!!!!
and i'll bet you always see her with a smile on her face right??? So Jenny!!!
-
Re: The voices in my head....
LOL! Yes she's smiling! Another thing she says is "isn't that adorable?!" And I find myself saying this TO myself! I've got it BAD!
-
Re: The voices in my head....
Glad I'm not alone on hearing her voice, when looking at everyone's finished projects.. :)
-
Re: The voices in my head....
I hear "isn't that just darling?" and "set your seam, then iron to the dark side." I've been quilting for 30 years and I have learned so much from her in the six months since I found her on You Tube.
-
Re: The voices in my head....
"Always to the dark side"....LOL!
Cyndi I can't believe how much I've learned from her. She has inspired me in a big big way! I have toyed with quilts for about 10 years or so, it is the reason my DH bought me my machine long ago. But I have NEVER had the success that I have since I discovered her on YouTube. She's been the best thing that's happened for my quilting, and the worst thing that's happened for my check book! I put blocks together in my sleep, literally!

Re: The voices in my head....
"set your seam and press to the dark side". It wouldn't be so bad if she was just chanting it in my head.....I keep saying it out loud! If my DD tries to commit me, I expect you all to stand up for me and tell her it's not my fault!
-
Re: The voices in my head....
hahaha i hear her too! I love it.
-
Re: The voices in my head....
so do I...press to then dark side...or when sewing strips together...make sure your sew from opposite sides....she has taught me alot and I can't wait to actually meet her!

Re: The voices in my head....
The title to this thread should be "Jennys' voice in my head" he he You had me worried for a min. but I get it now!
-
Re: The voices in my head....
Okay guys! You're really scaring me! Haha!
-
Re: The voices in my head....

Re: The voices in my head....
Nooooo...leave the duck alone! ....I Love The Duck!
-
Re: The voices in my head....
I love the duck too! Whenever my seven yr. old grandson hears the music start, he comes running so that he can see the duck. He also sticks around for Jenny's tut because he's just fascinated with how fabric cones together to make a quilt.

Re: The voices in my head....
I always try to mute my laptop when the duck quacks because it drives my Grandaughter NUTS! "Seriously gramma???? Another tutorial?" She's 11, what does she know?

Re: The voices in my head....
Always to the dark side, is my favorite! I too love the duck reminds me of Al !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: The voices in my head....
You all crack me up. Hubby thinks if I am on the puter I should be watching quilting tuts. If I'm not actually doing it then I should be learning more about how to, lol
-
Re: The voices in my head....
I love the duck, too. Jenny may say to always set the seam, but if you notice, she rarely, if ever, does. She just says that she gets so excited she forgets. Too funny! No, I don't hear Jenny or the duck when I quilt, but I love her videos and watch them multiple times. The only one I made from them, though, is the Double Slice. I wish she would do more videos!

Re: The voices in my head....
These comments are funny and so true for me! My husband knows what I'm doing on the laptop due to "the ducks"!!! lol - regarding hearing Jenny's voice - I do remember her phrases, while sewing. But all these memories that you all have written about all memories students have of their GREAT teachers... So Jenny... your students are learning so much from you. You have passed on the quilting bug to many that are loving every tutorial you share - your knowledge will be passed on to "our" generations too! Blessing to your voice in my head! sue.

And you know Jenny always figures out the easy way to do hard things, that is what we love about her teaching. Everything is made simple, so beginners can be successful! Great teacher, and all her students love her!
