    Sounds really cute but who's going to help cut the rags through that denim/minky - I can feel the blisters forming as I type. Ouch!

    I would try a few squares with the Minkee before deciding an entire quilt this way, Minkee is not an easy sew! I have made a few so far and used Minkee as the backing..it likes to slide! Have fun..cant wait to see the end results..oh with these 2 fabrics I personally would not add a third layer. JMO

    I saw your location and were in Germany....I freeze here so I would say yes to batting but that's me. I'm in the process of making warm quilts before the really cold hits again. Depends on you!!! Happy Quilting!!


    Forgot to add, I would use 1/2" seams
