Default Great shopping spree! Love them coupons!!!

Just got back from Joannes Fabric store...took 2, 50% off coupons and 2, 40% off coupons and a $5 of $25 or more coupon...

ALL quilting supplies were 50% off! I got a 5" hexagon template, 1 can of quilting adhesive spray, 80, 1,1/2" safety pins, marking chalk, FMQ'ing stencil of butterflies, all half price.

With the coupons, I got one spool (1200 yd) cotton quilting thread, 2 yds each of 3 solid fabrics, plus on sale at 30% off was 2, 1/2 yds of 2 solids for the cupcake quilt I am making for me(seldom do I make for myself!) and one yard of a print for the boarder on the ABC quilt. And then paid fullll prisce for a zipper (haven't paid full price for anything in so long I can't make myself type it!) Total came to $91 and after all the coupons...I paid $49 for it all!

Now next week I have several 50% off-ers and a 60% off a reg price item. I can't think of anything I really need to get a 60% off it..but I am going shopping to find something next week! If nothing else, I'll buy about yards of batting at 60% off..should last me awhile. I was thinking an iron but I guess the one I have is fine, if it ain't broke, don't fix it! I looked at a bobbin winder today...didn't say how much it was, but the ad said "from $99 to $225... so even at $99...not going to pay $40 for it! But I'll look and find something! I am so glad they put a Joannes craft store near me. And I can shop when needed as I can get so many coupons to use at one time..makes it worth my while and I can stock up on fabric. Next trip will be for prints.

Why don't they just give it away? It would be a whole lot easier!

Thanks for the update, I know where I'm going tonight or tomorrow morning. It's a trek for me, but I'll make the sacrifice for such great bargains.

My Hancocks store, which is 1 mile away, will take the Joanns' coupons. I used a coupon yesterday to get a big box of Warm and White, 20 yards for $140. I guess that is a good price, I haven't bought that brand lately, so I don't know how much it should really cost.

Sometimes at Joann's I have a hard time using all my coupons because they are good on non-sale items and it seems like everything is always on sale. Sounds like you sure got to use most of yours.

I always try to buy my batting with the coupons at Joann's. That's usually the only reason I go into that store on Black Friday, to buy a 40 yard roll of Warm & White.

Jean, you paid about $7.00 a yard for yours, so that is a good price, pretty close to half price. I didn't know they sold 20 yard boxes.

Joannes takes all competitors coupons..so I can use their, PLUS Michaels. I get both in mailers to my home, and join their mailing list so I get emailed coupons from both and then other places they turn up. As long as the bar code numbers are different, you can use as many coupons as you want. Oh, and Joannes often has a in store ad with a coupon too.

Yeah, the coupons are only good on regular priced items and they do have most everything on sale it seems! ..but I watch the yardage..like today..the Quilters Legend fabric was NOT on sale ($7 /yd) so I used the coupons on that (the solids) and got it half price or $3.50 a yd. while the Keepsake Calicos were on sale for 30% off so I got those with no coupon. And then when there isn't anything like that I particularly want...I will just go use the coupons on zippers, thread, buttons..things like that that are often not on sale.Things I know I will eventually need. And sometimes I go to other departments too. And often I will buy the batting..it is $15 a yard (extra wide) and I get it for half price
