Can you bring in sunsets with orange and yellow batiks or does it have to be an exact print of a sunset... I think you have enough strong prints and could use some blenders...that could be the sunset.

You can look at fabric.com website, they have 16 pages of quilting fabrics, and the prices aren't bad either

I agree with others that you have some really strong fabrics there. I would definitely pick up those colors she wants in the quilt in some batiks. They lend themselves to that island, beach theme. Have you decided on the pattern? I'll be curious to see this quilt when you put it together. I love the umbrella fabric and the beach fabric with the umbrellas and cabanas.

I agree with you Bubby...lots of strong fabrics but beautiful colors and really cheery... Yes Batiks would be a good choice or even fabrics with small patterns, such as little dots... Can't wait to see how it all comes tog! Have fun with it!

Update: Thank you Karen for those links I ordered the one from fabric.com of the sunset and also found some sea shell fabric that im happy with. As for pattern I'm thinking along the line of a 3 dudes patter that is on their site called colorworks. It is a strip type quilt that one block is turned vertical and the next to it is horizontal. (think apple core quilt or puzzle quilt), Think that this will show off the fabrics and prints but not be too busy. I thought about a DP9 but thought that it would be cutting the fabrics too small and since some of the prints are on the large size i could just see losing the whole concept.

I want to think all you ladies for your positive comments and encouragement. Everytime I ask a question everyone here gives me a new way to think about something or a alternate way around the block... (haha). Thank you all.

    Kellie,
Who makes the one with the umbrellas that you have? Love that print. Several others like it too.
