Ok so I also use the floor with carpeting to put my quilts together. I use the long quilting pins you know the ones with the little yellow ball on top the long ones, the pins go thru the carpet like a push pin to hold my quilt in place, then I spray the basting spray and take the pins out as I go I start in the middle spray a little, smooth it out, spray a little smooth it out until I am at the end. I only pin the top not the bottom or sides because then you would not be able to put your quilt together. I do the same for both the back and front of my quilt, does this make any sense, let me know if this help.

Keep in mind that i have to lay it on the floor to roll it up or to tack. Has anyone tried those T pins? i was wondering if they would work. maybe put them in only the back to tack it to the floor until i get it tacked? any inpur would be helpful..
