Drunkard's Path

I used a bowl, cut the circle out of paper, folded it in fourths and used that as the template. I did not add an extra 1/4", I did pin the centers to the background. There is a bit of trimming as the fit is never perfect. It wasn't as difficult as I originally thought it might be.
If you stack the squares up, you can cut multiples with a rotary cutter.

That video is made by Elise from Backporchdesigns that Sewgray mentioned up above. I bought her 7" Drunkard's Path templates to make my reversible-quilt-as-you-go Drunkard's Path quilt (just the binding left and I will post pics shortly). They were a bit pricey but I liked the size of this one. I also have the template set by Marti Michell which only comes with the "pie" shape; no "L" shape and it's done with strips and you can make 4 or 5 different sizes with the one set. Haven't really tried those yet.

Google for DP templates and you'll find quite a variety. I think the larger the templates the easier it will be to make. You can make smaller ones once you get better at piecing curves.

Denis, i watched one that used the same templates nd cut them the same way and sewed them the same way. I ordered the templates. Thanks for the information. You certainly are the "go to" guy for great information!

Excellent- anything I can do to help, just ask! My days are spent between my sewing machine and my computer, watching Youtube over and over and over or general surfing for quilting info. I have to admit more time is spent in front of the computer instead of the sewing machine---my UFOs will never get done!!!!
