I agree with Barb. First thought in my head was to cut them in sets of four and have four left for corners.
    Love the fabric panel.

Gorgeous pinwheel quilt! Colors are perfectly crisp.

I, personally would cut the blocks apart, put a 1 1/2" border around each block and then alternate them with either a plain coloured block or a pinwheel block to get your size. You would still have to add a border, but atleast it would be the size you are looking for. I did a panel quilt for a girlfriend's baby shower and attached is the photo. I hope this is of some help to you.

They also make great tummy quilts. Thankyou for the compliments.
That's kind of my problem.. I don't follow patterns and hardly measure before I construct!I just make the size I want and then add on to it outwardly. I end up making them usually about 65x65..which is to wide and not long enough for a twin bed! And that is what I did with these pinwheels I just finished.. I don't like going smaller than a 4"square.... and just made them using that! Smaller is on my "quilting bucket list" but thati'll have to wait till life in general isn't as complicated so I can focus my attention on the smaller squares!

Now see, I wouldn't have thought about that. I just cut the fab into the squares (I don't go smaller than 4"...saves my sanity!) and then didn't have alot of fab in the first place so I used it all to make the pinwheels...now don't have any of this fab for elsewhere on the quilt! But I have 12 blocks, and only making lap size, so I will keep 4 of them out for the outter corners of the quilt. Thanks so much for that idea. I was wondering how I was going to get some of the sage green elsewhere on the quilt!

You guys are better than the searching the internet!!!

If you added a 2" inner border (finished) and then a 5" (finished) outside border your finished quilt would measure 54X62. I would use the four non-alphabet blocks for the corner blocks. That should be large enough for a young child's bed. That would eliminate you having to make blocks to go between the letters. I guess it just depends on how much work you want to put into the quilt. There are also some slightly smaller blocks above and below the alphabet blocks...these would be cute worked into the end of a matching pillowcase.

I am a real fly by the seat of my britches kind of gal. Since all my quilts are from scraps and old clothing, etc. I never can really plan or diagram my quilts. I just start piecing and add to the size as I go along. Now, I would love to make an actual honest- to -goodness -all- store-bought- quilt -quality -fabric -quilt, but I will settle for the occasional charm pack to add to my scrappiness.
Cheri, just thinking of getting out of the box makes you almost there.
