Default I give up - I need help with embroidered labels for my Bernina

I got an embroidery module with my Bernina 440QE. I can embroider with it no problem. BUT..I can't seem to find a design that has a border so I can embroider the complete quilt label. I have used iron on labels I made with my PC, which work fine, but for my soon to arrive Grandson, I want to make special ones. So where can I find quilt labels with borders?

I have also looked into just printing onto fabric that I iron onto freezer paper to make them, but I would prefer an embroidered one. Can anyone help me??

Have you looked at some of the "shapes" or Borders that may have come with your software designs???
I have a Designer 1 and right in the basic software program... there are choices,,, one of them is "shapes or borders"... i can select that and then insert the message or lettering of my choice.... check for it.. you never know...

What is the "format" for your machine... i might be able to help... B

Hi Bellasquilts, I use an embroidery design from Jennilee at Digistitches and I love it. She has quite a few, they come in sets so look them over and see what works best for you. I used to test stitch for her, but I don't at this time due to working full time. My honest opinion is she's the best digitizer out there. Here's the link that has all 3 sets on it so you can click on each one and see them all.

Most borders are sold as the inside info varies. Did you buy software to design/resize/manipulate on your computer for your machine? The one with the machine tend to run about $900 or more. Embird modules start at $130 and you buy what you need to the base.

You can go around it by embroidering border you like first, then doing center or positioning the text or inside design and embroidering that second or in portions - if you don't have the software to do it on your computer.

The software on the machines themselves only really allow you to resize, rotate, pretty basic stuff. They get you on the external software... I know, embroidery is an expensive hobby, I'm adding as I have funds. But Penny, Oliver and Zander are worth it!

The Bernina embroidery module comes with free software called Artdesign. You can only use .art files with it (of course) and the Bernina site is dismal as far as support goes. They have a few free designs with the software, but I cannot find anywhere that has .art files for borders.

Lola, does she output .art files? If not, I can't use them it seems.

.art is one of the standard embroidery files - available as a choice at embroidery design sites - not hard to find at all. Just look at the drop down menu when you go to purchase. FYI

    Be warned. I am BORED.
    This could be dangerous.

When you get cold just go stand in the corner.
    They are usually 90 degrees.

A giraffe's coffee would be cold by the time it reached the bottom of his throat.
Ever think about that? No? You only think about yourself??
