Just want to say it's an adorable quilt. I love the backing fabric and the en pointe setting. I believe I would ditch around the large blocks and then do someting swirly inside the blocks. The sashing looks narrow enough to not need any quilting if you ditch around the blocks. :)
Love it! And I'm sure your granddaughter will too. Just the right amount of quilting. It is beautiful.
