Default Orange chalk won't come out

I marked my quilting lines with some orange fabric chalk and now the orange won't come out. Does anyone have any ideas? I soaked it, and washed it, and washed it again in Oxyclean (it works on diaper accidents perfectly, so I thought it was worth a try). I just bought a Frixion pen, so this won't happen again. However, if someone knows how I could get the orange chalk out, I would really appreciate it.

That's got to be very frustrating!

I had some brown mystery stains on a quilt that sat unfinished for 23 years, and when repeated washing didn;t work, I saturated the stain with lemon juice and out it outsude in the sunshine. It faded them to the point where you really have to strain to see them.

This was a cream colored fabric though, I don't know if it would work on any another colored fabric.

I read on another quilting board that Mr. Clean Magic Eraser will take out marking chalk. Good luck.

Thanks for letting us know about the problem. I'll be sure to never use an orange marking tool. Who makes it?

It is a Dritz set of white and color chalks that I bought at a chain store. I had no problems with the white chalk, but all the color chalks have stained so far.

Fels Naptha soap......the old cheap yellow bar of soap that has been around FOREVER. I use it to remove stains that nothing else touches. I'd test, but I've never had it hurt anything before.

I threw out all my marking chalk after reading horror stories on it not being able to be removed. I had clover chalk, but tossed it all...it's not worth it to me to take a chance. I'm sorry you are having troubles with it.

ok so i have NOT tried this yet but i was going threw "the quilter magazine" oct/nov 2011 and i came across KISS-OFF. it says trusted by quilters and crafters since 1979, safe and gentle fro most fabrics needs only whater to make it work NON TOXIC. REMOVES: lipstick, most pencil marks, grease, blood, coffee, red wine, makeup, wet and dry oil paint, baby spots, grass stains, and pet stains, and many more things.... it looks like a chapstick. www.kissoff.com So i would like to know if anyone has tried it and if it works but i just read about it yesterday and it might be worth a try!!!
