I've started a new Jacob's Ladder top and now that I have one square done, I think I need to add some color to it. I loved the 4 fabrics together at the store but now... I'm not so sure. Here's a pic:

It's all beige, brown and black right now. Any suggestions... PLEASE!!!!! I just feel that it needs some "POP!"
I love the fabrics!! I think the black is "popping" - don't you?
Oh, oh,oh...don't add any color...that block is GORGEOUS!!! What a beautiful quilt it will be!!!! I think that once you start putting the blocks together the black will pop! and when you get to the borders be sure and use black in there as well. I think if you add any color to it it won't be as pretty.

As a graphic designer I say...beautimusss ;) Leave it as is, the black is definately your Pop fabric.
Put the block on a pant hanger and hang it up against the wall - step back about 8 feet - squint your eyes a bit - you'll see how the black is the pop that the block needed. Your instinct was correct at the store. It will be beautiful once they're together and definately repeat black in the border.

This is beautiful just the way it is! These colors are perfect. The final quilt will have a very elegant look to it.....
I say leave it like it is. Adding color may actually detract from the design. I think this is going to be a very classy quilt.

I really like that paisley fabric you used. I'd border in black and bind in paisley.

Those fabrics are gorgeous together! I'm a big fan of paisley. I wouldn't change a thing. It's neutral in color and will go with so many things. Where do I find that paisley fabric? Please let us see it when it's finished!!!!

That is EXACTLY the color i would make for my DD or myself... especially the paisley!!!
I'm in the JL swap, and i chose it because i almost never use pastel or floral... so i'm forcing myself "out of the box" and it's hard to keep going.. but i'm determined.... as the song says... "Don't change a thing"!!! Thanks for sharing....:)

No it is beautiful just like that. I bought this same fabric and made a bow tuck purse. The whole time I'm thinking this would make a beautiful quilt
