feed sack quilt exhibit
If there is anyone anywhere close to Talladega Alabama you should go and see the exhibit of feed sack quilt on display until 5/4. They were made by an Alabama lady and her daughter in the 30s and 40s and were just wonderful when I got a chance to see them yesterday.
There were lots of different patterns but my very favorite one was a "turtle stampede". It was made from drunkard's path blocks with the turtle heads and feet appliqued on. I am so sorry I do not have a picture I can share, I have a book but I am sure it is copyright protected. I will look and make sure but if it is not I will scan and post a picture.
Here is an idea of how to make one.http://www.quiltingboard.com/tutoria...8.html#2315975
