Just wondering how you all measure and cut your fabric do you use the mat to measure or your ruler?
I use my mat.
95% of the time I use my ruler.
Ruler, I line my fabric on my mat.
Ruler most of the time with the fabric lined up on the mat.
Ruler, with it lined up on the mat.
Ruler exclusively!
Maybe this is my problem... i think i have been using both and I just need to use one!
I use my ruler with my fabric lined up on the mat.
Ruler only, they are much more accurate.
I use both, but mainly rely on the ruler.

Both, habit from how I was taught....
The ruler. Depending on the circumstances I sometimes line up the fabric on the mat. I agree that it's harder to get accurate cutting using the mat.
I was told to line it up on the mat but use the ruler so that's what I do.
I use the mat. I really don't think it matters as long as you consistently use one way or the other and not both.
