    What is your favorite material to use for a rag quilt? Cotton, flannel, fleece, etc? Name it pleasssee..

    Definitely flannel because the fringe turns out so full and fluffy after the quilt is washed. Also, you can't beat flannel for snuggling!

    I agree with tams. I like cotton and flannel.... I usually sandwich flannel between cottons, but sometimes I use one square of cotton and one of flannel

    I have only made them out of Denim on the top with flannel at the back.

    I noticed that some use batting and some don't. I want to try making a flannel rag baby quilt. I'd love to make it without batting but worry it will be too lightweight. Any opinions?
