    @rebecca
    Maybe use a thin towel or blanket inbetween as a batting for the babyquilt. Without anything I think it really will be too lightweight.

    Rebecca, I like using 3 layers of flannel for baby quilts, it 'rags' so beautifully.

    Thanks! I think using another piece of flannel for batting is the way to go. Sounds like I can cut the flannel the same size as the squares so it will be sewn into the seams and I won't have to do any quilting. If using batting the tut I saw said to cut the batting squares an inch smaller than the flannel squares. In that case, the quilt has to be quilted to hold the batting in place. I would like to avoid that step. She used 8"squares of flannel. That should make a really quick baby quilt! I like "quick."
