Re: Need help in designing quilt with different size blocks
The t-shirt quilt I made was made up of different sized blocks. I had 3 different widths that I sorted the blocks in and then arranged them in columns according to width. When laying it out I had to move some blocks to other columns in order to even the length out. After I sewed the blocks together in the columns, I sewed the columns together. I didn't use any sashing between any of the blocks and only used a small border around the quilt. Surprisingly it turned out well. Good luck!

Thanks--that's helpful. I was overwhelmed by the problem, and didn't think about that approach.

Thanks, Granny Judy! I'm getting lots of ideas from all the posters. It's clear thatnI need to do some playing with my blocks!

Think of it as a PUZZLE...get your blocks done and on the design wall..then figure out the size and color of "bridge" you will need to get it to match it's surrounding blocks. This is a time consuming method,, so don't rush the process... Granny
