I don't know anything about a Serger...but instead of throwing the thread away...keep it for basting. I have better thread but in seperating it (after not sewing for about 10 years) saw I still have some cheapy stuff from Walmart and drug store..as it is marked 2/$1.00! I had been using C&C Cotton Poly Dual Duty for years and this was junk stuff cause I couldn't make myself throw things away. Now... I have been using that for basting instead of pinning and throwing it away after I use it isn't so bad...although I do re-wind some of the longer pieces and reuse them!
