    Default Moda Miscount?

Ok, this is going to sound crazy and you all are gonna wonder about me, but....has anyone ever been shorted in a charm pack? I am doing a charm square quilt, and just got to the border (which is pieced with your "scraps") and I am 4 squares short. There is no way I could have made an error in the quilt, it's really straight forward and easy. I've looked high up and low down all over my sewing room but nada. This happen to anyone...ever? Or am I JUST that special?

I've never been shorted but I have had a an extra piece or half a square a few times. I'm not sure if you can try to get what you're missing after you've used the pack. Do you have any scraps or solids that might fit in?

I actually bought this on Ebay about a year ago and have been holding out using it until I knew who the quilt would be for. It's Rose Parade by Moda. I did happen to buy yardage while it was available, so I think I'm just going to make it up. Mainly I wanted to know if I was loosing my mind or if this happens from time to time. Lesson learned: count your charms! Thanks for the replies! I am really loving the way this is turning out, if it's as pretty as I'm hoping I'll post pics.

I thought I had been shorted a time or two, but eventually I found two stuck together! I'm sure it's possible. Contact where you bought your charms and see if they will make it right! Barb

Libby, if you bought off e-Bay your seller may have removed two blocks they liked and sold the rest . . . not uncommon, I'd think. Not ethical, but happens. I have had packets where I had only a half charm or a 3/4 from mis-cutting. Actually never counted packages. I do know that some packages come with different amounts - you may have 44, 42, 40, 26 . . . depends upon the fabric line and the colorways.
    Be warned. I am BORED.
    This could be dangerous.

When you get cold just go stand in the corner.
    They are usually 90 degrees.

A giraffe's coffee would be cold by the time it reached the bottom of his throat.
Ever think about that? No? You only think about yourself??

Sandy the package said 42, it felt tight, like it was factory packed. But I was short two. I know I'll be counting charm squares I get anywhere but reputable quilt shops from now on. My heart just sank....I was nearly done, only the pieced border left. I figured out a solution and actually think I like it better!

Glad you worked it out. I've never actually counted the charms in the packs I've used. I guess if you're working on something that requires the use of the entire pack it could be a problem. For me, I have sooooo much stash there is always something else I can substitute. However, one certainly does expect to get what one pays for. I would be miffed. I would also make sure to let the seller know so they don't short change another customer. Sellers do not want negative feedback showing up in their ratings, especially if they are active users of Ebay. Hopefully, you won't give them a negative rating without at least contacting them first to see what they say. If they make no effort to rectify the situation then I would consider not giving them high marks.

By the way, let us know if you do contact the seller. I'm curious to know what the response will be.
