God, Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
The stash to make a quilt to help me cope,
A quilt to give to comfort those I love in times of hurt, fear and uncertainty.
And the courage to keep on sewing when life itself seems held together by a single thread of hope.
Looks like you need to re-thread your machine. I'd take out the bobbin too and re-insert. Start there...and then play with the tension if that doesn't sort it out. You want to make sure the needle is in the highest position when you thread the machine so it catches the 'hook' inside...hold the thread at the top as you wind it around the course that it needs to follow, keeping a bit of tension on it, until you feel it 'hook' or 'catch' on that inside hook before you thread the needle. Hope that helps!
(that's my guess, anyway! good luck!)
Hate that when you want to finish something! I had that problem with FMQing on my Janome Horion! Very frusrating. I gave up and did SITD.
also do you have the right size bobbin? there are different sizes and the least little bit will throw it off.... been there done that..... and like the ladies said before tension and re-threading
The problem with my SInger 9960 is...other than VERY annoying...the top threading feature. I thread it carefully, so I think, but if it isn't caught just right or whatever goes on inside there...my stitch line will look similar to what you show here. I rethread, sometimes twice...and it will then sew fine. So...rethread it. On mine...it is enclosed and you can't see a problem and you can't half way unthread and re thread..you have to take it all the way out. Sometimes I have noticed that the spool is jammed...like with those little slits in the cap of the spool to hold the thread end? The thread will be hung up on that. Other than that...I dont' know what is causing it, other than if I just unthread and rethread...it will sew fine.
When I have any problem with my thread/tension, etc., I check the needle and replace if necessary (what a small expense in the long-run), check the bobbin and re-load it if necessary, unthread and re-thread the machine. You can always take the time to clean and oil the machine just to be sure.
I also use one of those silicone (I think) washers in my bobbin case when FMQing. It helps with the bobbin tension.
I had a problem recently with the thread (top thread) breaking when I would FMQ. I took the machine to the shop and they GAVE me some thread silicone (can't think of the name of it right at this moment) and that took care of the problem.
Good luck. Hope you figure out the problem and get on with the quilting.

This is why I didnt buy a Singer I heard alot of bad stuff about them. Have you had it long? Maybe you need to go in and have it checked because they could be something you can't see that is causing this problem. It really does look like a tension problem to me but that's my opinon. Hope you get it fixed. Mahalo

Hi
Thank you for all good advice! I tried to rethread and then tried it whit some spare fabric and then it worked as it should.
I am not sure what was the problem but it seams that rethreding it fixed it!

Most likely you didn't have the thread seated properly between the tension disks. One way to check - once you've threaded the machine, lower your presser foot. If there is resistance when you tug on the thread coming from the needle you threaded the machine properly. If the thread easily pulls through the needle you need to re-thread.

By the way, glad it was a simple solution!!!
