Suzi, my horse got me through some tough times and now I have quilting. Can totally relate. Glad you find solace in doing for others.

Could not have said it better myself Tracy. We lost my mother in Sept this past year, and all of us have been affected by it differently. I did get my baby sister into quilting to help her focus on something else, and it has made a world of difference. In the past 3 years I have had to endure emotional pain that no grand mother should have to go through, and I will never entirely heal from it, but as the years go by and my grandson thrives it does make it easier.

I agree. Fortunately, my husband is supportive of my hobby (AKA addiction) and when I have handled about all I can with life he either takes me quilt fabric shopping or sends me to my room to de-stress. Hang in there. Things will eventually turn around.

Not sure about healing, but it does make the ache more tolerable. I too am making donation quilts to go to local children's hospital PICU. It is a project that is near and dear to my heart. Give your worries over to the quilt at hand and it will surely comfort you.

I agree Suzi, my life is extremely stressful at times. If I didnt have my quilts and other projects to focus on, alot of people arround this house would suddenly be missing persons. Quilting is one of the few things I do that I won't budge on or compromise on. My family has learned that I'm going to do it, it's none of their business how much I spend, and I better not be interupted unless 911 has already been dialed and there better be blood involved! Oh and NO koolaid or chocolate is allowed anywhere near my fabric or sewing stuff(unless it's me eating my chocolate).

You are so right Suzi I've been going through a really rough time and quilting is what is getting me through it. When I'm in my sewing room it's almost like my problems don't exist for those few hours. Will keep you in my prayers and just keep quilting if that helps get you through your trying time.

I never know the right thing to say to people that are going through a tough time. I can only say I'm sorry you are having a rough time right now and if you need a shoulder to cry on, sneeze on, lean on, try a new quilt square out on, or lightly, very ligghhttllllyyy tap on, I stand at the ready. Prayer's from here.
