I'm thinking that maybe because of the silk covering the thread slides through easier and is just loose enough to make it lay crooked instead of straight. I say slight, because if it were alot your upper line wouldn't lay straight. Just try a tiny bit and see if that helps.
That's what I thought to. So I did fiddle with the tension on scrap fabric and it only did the usual loosen and tighten like it does any other time the tension is either way. I loosed/tightened the thread, but did nothing for the crookedness. What brand/style/kind do you use for your quilting? Is the silk an issue? I guess I missed the silk part and just got it cause of the egyptian part...hearing 100% egylptian thread was good in sheets.
