    Default friendship braid quilt

Has anyone done a friendship braid quilt using the binding tool? I know the tutorial says to cut the bottom of the braid to make a straight edge but it also looks like you would have to cut the top edge to straighten it too, am I correct in assuming that? The tutorial does not show that.

If anyone has any pictures of one in their albums can you direct me to them as I'd love to see some inished ones in different fabrics. I'd like to do mine in the fabric line called Grace to go along with this table topper I'm finishing up.
    Thanks!

Yes, you have to trim both the top and bottom edges to make them straight.

Hi Cathy. I agree with Karen about the trimming both ends. Here's a link to one in my albums. It's a terrible pictures; looks much better in real life. But it's a really easy pattern to do. In fact that's all I use the binding tool for as I've found an easier method to do binding.

    so nice!

Please share your easier way to end the binding, I get to the end and get so confused how to do that last mitre, even with a picture tutorial I get mixed up!

Hi Cathy, I just posted my finished friendship braid pic. Here is the link to it

I hope the pic helps you at least a little bit. If you click the pic it will take you to my photobucket album and there's another view of it there.
I have to say that I love using the binding tool for the friendship braid and for joining the ends of my binding. I do pull up Jenny's video, just because I don't trust myself to do it right, and it works perfectly every time.
