    Default Flag using tumbler template

I saw someone here had a quilt they made of the american flag..they used the tumbler template sideways and then end to end it gave the "wavey" effect of the red and white tumblers. I can't find the picture now, but the tumblers were on their sides and longways end to end so I'd have to sew them in columns vertically, then sew the columns together vertically. However, is there a way to do this using the "chain" procedure, where you just lay 2 squares together, sew, and then at the end, don't break thread but lay 2 more and sew, then 2 more etc? I can't see that it can be done on this pattern with tumblers, but often something is right in front of my face and I can't see it cause I'm looking to hard for it! Any suggestions?

    Be warned. I am BORED.
    This could be dangerous.

When you get cold just go stand in the corner.
    They are usually 90 degrees.

A giraffe's coffee would be cold by the time it reached the bottom of his throat.
Ever think about that? No? You only think about yourself??

I'm still searching for US, because I want to make that also! Wait a minute! I am looking for the one using the half hex ruler, wrong one, you found yours! Whoops, didn't read carefully! Ashamed, because I'm a teacher, and keep warning my students to read carefully!

I was thinking of making this one using my mini tumbler template

    http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...er-t40490.html

What you would have to do is turn the flag on end, blue area on bottom and follow the color sequence row by row horizontally...tumblers are sewn with the long sides in the opposite direction...if you did it columns sewing the tops and bottoms together, you would have to fuss with the zig zaggy pattern...

blue, star, blue, star, red, white, red, white, etc.
