    Default Free motion how to??

I just got my Brother Pacesetter PC 8500 D back from the shop.It has been over a year since I messed with it. I want to learn how to do free motion quilting on it but when I drop the feed dogs the presser foot is to tight against the fabric for me to just glide along. So with that being said ( I can't find my book) Do yall know if #1 I can even do free motion on this machine , # 2 do I need a special foot and #3 is there an adjustment to the presser foot I need to adjust? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

there will be a spring next to the darning foot somewhere with a screw. The foot looks like a lopp usually. Turn the screw and it will reduce the weight of the foot on the fabric. Do this until the fabric glides through.

    Good luck

You do need to use a darning or free motion foot not your regular sewing foot,

If you go on the Brother support site you can get the manual for all Brother machines.

The FMQ/clear decorative stitch/darning foot that came with my machine has an adjustment screw to lower and raise the foot so that it can adjust for different thicknesses in a project. If you have a darning foot of some kind, it might/should be adjustable.

I looked online to see if there is an adjustment for the presser foot pressure, but couldn't find anything. I even looked at your manual, but I could be overlooking it. Here is the link for downloading your machine manual.
