    Default calculating fabric???

O.k. ladies, after a lot of internet searching time I think sticking to the pre cut fabrics right now is best for me in the beginning. So, how do I find out how many layer cakes, jelly rolls, ect it takes to do specific sizes of quilt. It's time for me to start buying some fabrics and I really don't know how much to get. I looked on ehow.com, but the instructions were a bit confusing. Any help is appreciated!
    Thanks!

These are links to the Moda website with information on sizes etc.
The first link is to the Weights and Measures page http://www.modabakeshop.com/p/weights-and-measures.html
The second link is to the specific chart that you need for calculating precuts http://www.unitednotions.com/measure...ting-chart.pdf

Look like Lynn already posted what I would have suggested. Good luck!

    Haha now that's good advice!

I have never bought pre-cuts, I have always cut my own.

    I do this too

Every time I give measurements to a store clerk and ask them they can't seem to figure it out any better than I can. Yesterday a clerk figured out the inches I needed and then had a puzzled look on her face and I said "I think you have to divide that by 36 to get the yardage" and she said "oh yeah" so I sure hope I bought enough. I bought an extra yard.

Thanks ladies. The links are very helpful! I love the tip of always just getting 3 yards! Perfect and simple solution for me.
