Default Need easy pattern and color thoughts since I'm new

Can anyone help me and recommend a beginner's pattern for me to do for a quilt? I played around this week with the tube quilt pattern after watching a tutorial ON MSQC and I did ok. I was wondering if there's an even easier one for me to start out with. Also, we're going to do light gray on the walls so I'd like to ask color ideas for the quilt. This house is at the beach and we already have the blue/yellow color scheme in the living room. Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks!

Hi...I was going to say blue. In one of the rooms at home we used to have gray paint and a blue bedspread and curtains and the walls picked up the blue color and looked blue-gray.

The 1600 jelly roll quilt is easy..... if you can sew a straight line you can do this quilt..... Yellow brick road is easy and uses fat quarters.....

I was going to say Yellow Brick Road too. A similar pattern to YBR is Turning Twenty by Tricia Cribbs. Take a look at this blog for a quick overview.

if you go to www.modabakeshop.com and look under chefs you'll see Crazy Mom Quilts (crazymomquilts.blogspot.com) second one down click on that and scroll down to the coin quilt. This one is real easy. I just started it for my second granddaughter as I wanted something to go together fast and I'm using some cute citrusy colored fabric for it.
