    Default This Thread Color Okay?

I am starting to quilt this quilt:
(I'll have to add the quilt picture later, for some reason I can't get my pictures to pull up in my album. When I try to post it's a white square, except the ones I just uploaded)

I started with white thread and thought it blended in too much. My husband suggested I needed something bold and noticeable. I chose a color that's not in the quilt but coordinated nicely, purple. I've always quilted with white or cream so this was a bit daunting of a choice. I'm not so sure it's the right color either. I know it's harder to tell on our various computer screens but maybe you could still give me a nay or yeah if this works?
This is the top, I think it will work okay here (yeah, I should have washed off the blue marker first, sorry)

This light turquoise backing is what has me really questioning my sane judgement:

In case you need further info...this is the stencil I have that I'm going to use for the whole top, minus outside green border:

Thank you for all the opinionated help you've given me through my various projects :-)
